WMS Music Directors
My name is Kieran Harrison and I am excited to be the new band director at Washington Middle School. My passion for teaching middle school band began when I was a young saxophone player. I was inspired by my own middle school band teacher 's passion for music and genuine love of her students. Following in her footsteps, I pursued a degree in music education from the University of Miami. Upon graduation, I began my teaching career at Vista PEAK Exploratory k-8 in Aurora, Colorado where I served as band director, orchestra director, and musical theater co director. After returning to Florida, I directed the bands and orchestras at Oak Grove Middle School in Clearwater, Florida. My fiancé and I have just moved to the Seattle area and I am excited to become a part of the music community here. In my free time outside of school, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, snowboarding, reading a good book, and of course playing music. I can't wait to meet and start making music with my new students at Washington Middle School. Go, Junior Huskies!
